# dpLib 6.0.4 Maintenance release on top of 6.0.3. The exported interface is unchanged (the same 90 exports) and `dpLib.dll` depends on the same DLLs as before. ## What changes compared to 6.0.3 - **New D3D11 sample** (`testcases/d3d11`). It replaces the old sample, which did not run. It is a plain Win32 program: no DXUT, shaders are compiled at run time with `D3DCompile`, the test images are loaded with stb_image. It needs only the Windows SDK and uses static correction with the example data in `testcases/bin/data`. It depends on `D3DCompiler_47.dll`, which is part of Windows (the old sample needed `D3DCompiler_43.dll`). - **Fix:** the image loader did not close the image files after loading them. After about 170 contexts the process ran out of file handles. - **Build:** the 2010 DirectX SDK library folder is no longer added to the link directories of dpLib. ## Building the samples The package contains the sample sources, not built executables. Configure `testcases` with CMake (`find_package(dpLib)` finds dpLib in the package) and build it. The OpenGL sample needs GLFW3 and the Vulkan sample needs the Vulkan SDK; neither is part of the package. To build only the Direct3D samples, comment out `add_subdirectory(opengl)` and `add_subdirectory(vulkan)` in `testcases/CMakeLists.txt`. ## Running the D3D11 sample After building, `d3d11_demo.exe` is written to `testcases/bin`, next to `data` and `dpLib.dll`; start it from there. (With a Visual Studio generator the executable ends up in `testcases/bin/Release`; copy it one folder up, next to `data` and `dpLib.dll`.) d3d11_demo.exe [-x posX] [-y posY] [-w width] [-h height] [-c channel] [configuration file] Keys: 1 warping, 2 blending, 3 black level, 4 secondary blending (on/off), Esc quits. A license (CodeMeter dongle or network license) is required, see the readme. ## About the message "Failed to load ..." The sample prints the error string of dpLib after loading the configuration and after the first frame. A line such as dpLib, after the first frame was started: Failed to load color correction from is set by dpLib 6.0.x for every optional file that is missing (blending, secondary blending, black level, color correction). The correction continues without that part. Only the file that was missing last is reported. The example data does not contain a color correction, so this line is expected. It is no sign of a failed installation. ## Outlook Version 6.1 is in development. It will bring further changes; this release contains only the D3D11 sample and the file handle fix.
